30th Time of Music starts tomorrow
Time of Music starts tomorrow with an opening concert in Viitasaari church at 19.00. Beat Furrer’s piece “Studie für Klavier” will be performed by Joonas Ahonen. Sami Klemola’s world premiere, which is composed for 30-year-old Time of Music, will be heard as well. The piece has elements of Viitasaari and represents the local spirit.
Sami Klemola is also part of the defunensemble which has a concert on 6.7. at the theatre. defunensemble concentrates on electroacoustic music. One of the Finnish avant-garde pioneers M.A. Numminen will perform with defunensemble as a soloist in Klemola’s piece “Energiansäästäjä”(Energy Conserver).
Due to the 30th Anniversary the program of Time of Music is wider than during the past few years. This summer the program include a movie, improvisation, an exhibition, a commissioned parfym and intimate home concerts even in little villages outside Viitasaari centre.
